Happy Sunday Beauty!
And happy Sunday!
This week has been all about site work! I love a work-in-progress (~success~ in progress??), so I’m giving you a sneak peek!
I'd LOVE your feedback! As you know, my mission is to simplify the interior design process so you can:
Get curious about great design
Find YOUR style
Dupe IT BABY
✨✨✨✨ But first !
If you don’t know these substacks / cool peeps - check em out
Today, we're tackling Step 3: Connect. After finding our style and discovering the design greats (prepare for a rabbit hole!), we unlock the pure joy of connecting with cool people (like us!) through shared style. Basically, you love what they love, and BAM - new girl (or guy!) crush!
✨ Trends This Week
Design is in a dream-state for new inspo – maybe we all just need a blank slate . What even is the real world anymore?
Circular edges gone alien ! Has anyone else noticed things getting smaller and, dare I say, more alien-looking? Are we turning into aliens? lol
New or Net-new? Here's a truth bomb: once you realize every "new" contemporary design is either heavily influenced or just 10% different from what came before, spotting great design gets WAY easier.
🕵🏻♀️ Check This Out
OMG moment: Ok this is late, but finding out Julianne Moore is a design lover? My world = made.
This is still cool: also #late
Julianne Moore’s Montauk escape is EVERYTHING:
NEW SOHO HOME Outdoor inspo
Spring vibes with Bunny Williams
Campbell Rey = chicness. Just do whatever they do:
… and Hermes Glassware for a little pep in your step!
🧠 Yuppie How-To: The Power of Connection
I've explored connection and creativity in past posts because I truly believe in their power.
That moment of pure, sensational bliss when you discover something that connects you to a person, place, or thing? It's AMAZING.
This week, while hunting for new podcasts, I stumbled upon the David Zwirner Dialogues podcast with Julianne Moore (seriously, a fabulous episode – highly recommend!). I felt genuinely giddy because I connected with Julianne Moore's love for design and the humanness she connects with while filming (looking both outside and inside).
Connection is ALL about seeing yourself in something (or someone!). And that's beautiful. But remember, connection is a journey of continuous evolution, just like our creative lives!
Your Mission, Should You Choose To Accept It
This week, carve out some time to get curious. Explore the DesignStyles on my (~success in progress hehe) website and see what speaks to you. Then, dive deeper on Google or in design publications (will share more on this later). Ask yourself why you like these things. You might just discover a reflection of yourself!
And finally, let's remember: ChatGPT may have the compute, but it will NEVER have what makes us human – creativity and connection.
Stay curious, my people!
